Đà Lạt has hundreds of cafés, but what stays with you is the feeling of sitting among the pines, listening to a stream run past. These are cafés just like that, where an hour or two feels like time has slowed right down.

Cafe Lỡ

Sip your coffee with your feet almost in the stream and pine trees all around. Cafe Lỡ at 18 Trúc Lâm Yên Tử sits right on the creek bank and also hosts outdoor parties. Drinks cost around 30,000–60,000 VND, open 8:00–17:00. Come in the morning, when the air is at its freshest.

1/2 Circle Coffee

Settle in on the edge of a stream and listen to the water flowing through the pine forest. 1/2 Circle Coffee is tucked down the alley at 4 Đặng Thái Thân. The signature drink is the "Butterflies", at around 50,000–80,000 VND; open 7:30–18:00.

Tiệm Cà Phê Nhà Bên Suối

A wooden bridge crosses the stream to a pine-covered hill on the other side. Tiệm Cà Phê Nhà Bên Suối (the Streamside House café) on Trúc Lâm Yên Tử street is Đà Lạt chill at its purest. Drinks around 35,000–55,000 VND, open 7:00–18:30.

Thông Trước Nhà Cafe

A tiny café, but open the door and the whole pine forest is right in front of you. Thông Trước Nhà at 31/13 đường 3/4 suits anyone who loves to sit still and hear the wind move through the pines. Drinks around 30,000–60,000 VND, open 7:00–19:00.

Thông Ơi Coffee

A café built entirely from pine wood. Thông Ơi at 31 đường 3/4 has two airy floors; take a seat upstairs to look out over a sea of green pines. Drinks around 40,000–50,000 VND, open 7:00–18:00.

Dưới Tán Thông Già Coffee House

A corner of Đà Lạt with a touch of French bohemian style. Dưới Tán Thông Già (Under the Old Pines) at 12A/17 Triệu Việt Vương has wooden tables and woven ethnic cushions set beneath towering old pine trees. Drinks around 50,000–70,000 VND, open 9:00–21:00.

Cafe In The Forest

Coffee in the middle of a pine forest, from just 20,000 VND. Cafe In The Forest at 86/7 Khe Sanh is breezy and close to nature, with a light veil of mist in the mornings. Open 8:00–21:00.

Tiệm Cà Phê Bình Bông Bụp

What is it about salt coffee in Đà Lạt that everyone loves? Bình Bông Bụp, down the alley at 10 Xô Viết Nghệ Tĩnh, is a wooden cottage looking out over lush green pine hills. Salt coffee costs 55,000 VND; open 7:30–18:00.

Tiệm Cà Phê Lưng Chừng

A café you only find by walking down an alley. Lưng Chừng in alley 31/8 đường 3/4 is wonderfully quiet, perfect for reading or simply sitting alone. Drinks around 30,000–70,000 VND, open 8:00–18:30.
